Idaho Joins the Effort, Deploys Troopers to Secure Texas Border

Members from the Idaho State Police have joined Texas’ counter-narcotics task force, “Operation Lone Star”, to provide additional support on the frontline. The shared aim: secure the 1,254-mile stretch of the Rio Grande from cartels driving human trafficking and drug smuggling activities.

This chilling activity is unfortunately becoming commonplace along the Texas-Mexico border.

Efforts from “Operation Lone Star” have significantly decreased illegal immigrant apprehensions – now reaching over half a million – and more than 49,000 criminal arrests involving over 42,200 felony charges along the border.

As of now, “Operation Lone Star” has accomplished notable progress since inception. Illegal border crossings have reduced by over 87%, showcasing a drastic difference in primary objectives.
